Kimberly Kniess graduated cum laude from Western Illinois University School of Music in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree and completed her Masters in Music Education from the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University in August of 2015. While at Western, Kim was involved in Opera Theater, Music Teacher’s National Association, University Singers, and Madrigal Ensemble and was named department scholar for her graduating class. After college, Kim taught high school vocal music and show choir at Davenport North High School for 4 years before accepting her current job at DMIS. This year, she directs 6th, 7th, and 8th grade mixed choirs, 7th grade and 8th grade women's choirs, and the 8th grade musical class. Mrs. Kniess also teaches 8th grade voice lessons and 5th grade general music. She and her husband have two daughters, Zoë and Gemma.
Amy Streck teaches 7th and 8th grade choir, 5th and 6th grade general music, and teaches 7th grade private voice lessons at Drexler Middle and Intermediate School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, graduating magna cum laude from Luther College in 2011. While at Luther, Amy was a member of the Nordic Choir. In the spring, she enjoys directing the fifth grade musical and being the musical director for the Cascade High School musical. During her summers, she enjoys traveling, particularly to the Colorado mountains.
